What to provide
Provide your contact information; the names of parties, counsel, material witnesses, organizations, providers, facilities, and agencies; a brief subject description; the requested service; and any urgent deadline.
What not to provide
Do not send medical records, financial records, litigation files, evidence, detailed facts, or strategy before conflict screening is complete.
After clearance
If the matter clears review, the practice will discuss fit, scope, fees or approved pro bono terms, limitations, work product, and a method for transferring records.
Separate entities
Blue Mountain Private Investigators is a for-profit investigative practice. Valor Investigations is a separate nonprofit focused on education, public information, and volunteer assistance. Conflict screening considers the investigator's relevant knowledge and obligations from work involving either entity.
No engagement by contact
Initial contact does not require the practice to preserve evidence, monitor a deadline, or begin work. Initial communications are not guaranteed to be confidential or privileged.
Reduced-fee and pro bono requests
People affected by elder abuse, exploitation, care-facility harm, wrongful death, or related public-accountability failures who cannot afford investigative services may request assistance. Attorneys representing victims pro bono may also request support. Availability depends on conflict clearance, fit, urgency, evidence, scope, safety, and capacity. Outside costs are discussed before work begins.
