Build levels
The AI database in three levels, from search alone to a litigation-ready corpus with your practice area's law loaded beside the evidence.
Level 3
The courthouse and the law library, in one search.
Evidence and authority loaded to the same shape, so a question can pull the record and the statute behind it together.
All three levels are the AI database: your case file loaded into a database your firm owns, with an assistant your staff questions in plain English and every answer cited to the page it came from. The levels differ only in how much is built on top. Pick the one your matter needs. You can start at Level 1 and move up later.
Level 1: Lookup
Every page of the production searchable by word, phrase, name, date, or meaning, with results cited to document and page.
- Search by a word, a name, a date, or what a passage means, combined into one ranked result.
- An assistant your staff types questions into, in plain English, that answers cited to document and page rather than a bare assertion.
- Tips on using the assistant are provided at signing, with worked example questions to start from.
Price: $1,000 per matter plus $100 per 1,000 pages.
Level 2: Investigative
Everything in Level 1, plus the layers that turn search into case work.
- A second pass that puts the right pages first, so the top answers are the most relevant ones, not just the closest keyword match.
- A roster of every person and organization named in the file, with role labels and aliases resolved.
- A dated chronology (timeline) of events drawn from the record, with the source page behind each entry.
- An evidence manifest with Bates lookup, so any Bates number pulls the exact page.
- An assistant that remembers what has been confirmed, corrected, and left open between sessions, so your team is not starting cold each time.
- Delivered with a first-pass chronology and a contradictions list, each cited to page.
Price: $3,500 per matter plus $200 per 1,000 pages.
Level 3: Litigation-ready
Everything in Level 2, plus the law of your practice area loaded into the same search, so evidence and authority answer together.
- Oregon statutes with full section text, administrative rules, UTCR and supplementary local rules, Oregon appellate opinions, Attorney General opinions and public-records orders, bench books, and forms.
- One search across your evidence and the authority pack together, so a question can pull a record and the statute or case behind it in the same answer.
- A written inventory of every authority source loaded, with edition and retrieval date, so a question about currency has a documented answer.
- Additional practice areas, an annual refresh of the authority pack, and a federal corpus (for 42 U.S.C. 1983 and other federal matters) are available add-ons.
Price: Level 2 pricing plus $6,000 for the first practice area. Additional practice area $2,000. Annual authority refresh $1,000 per area. Federal corpus add-on $2,500.
Worked examples
| Level | Setup | Per 1,000 pages | 10,000-page matter | 25,000-page matter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Lookup | $1,000 | $100 | $2,000 | $3,500 |
| 2 Investigative | $3,500 | $200 | $5,500 | $8,500 |
| 3 Litigation-ready (one practice area) | $3,500 + $6,000 | $200 | $11,500 | $14,500 |
A market comparison: hosted e-discovery for a 10,000-page matter typically runs $1,300 to $5,000 in year one and keeps billing every month after. These prices are a one-time build. You own the database when it is delivered.
What you need on your side
